Spokane Daily Chronicle, 12/29/1969, Design Submitted "A design in orange and black was submitted by West Valley High School students to adorn this new 800,000-gallon water tower in Millwood.  The $70,000 structure, near the city park on Frederick, is due for completion soon. The tank has been a long-range project of the community and the students' design was approved by the Millwood Council."

 
Spokane Daily Chronicle, 6/16/970, "Howley said no action was taken on plans to provide special lighting for the town's new 800,000-gallon standpipe water tank."
